Verizon Wireless Charging Pad hitting stores

The Verizon Wireless Charging Pad for Android devices has begun hitting the shelves in Verizon stores for $ 70. It is designed for devices such as the HTC Thunderbolt, LG Revolution and HTC Droid Incredible 2 that have all been recently confirmed as supporting wireless charging. In order for the charging pad to work, the devices must be retrofitted with the optional wireless charging battery door.

First white space wireless goes live in Houston

Rice University had the distinction of being the first to implement the recently cleared white space wireless in real-world conditions. Houston restaurant worker Leticia Aguirre has been given a prototype connection that for the first time has given her a reliable Internet link in her area. The addition was part of a larger rollout that would give about 3,000 East Houston locals the long-range wireless access.

Genius debuts Traveler 6000 wireless mice

Computer accessory maker Genius has added two RF wireless mice to its lineup, the Traveler 6000 Wireless Mouse and the the Traveler 6000 Classic Wireless Mouse [website not yet updated], now available in the US and Canada. The two models are identical with one difference: the Classic model features a styled black top cover design, whereas the regular model sports solid color cover in Diamond Black, Royal Blue or Ruby Rose.

Netgear launches 4 Gigabit-enabled wireless routers at CES

Netgear has launched four new wireless routers ahead of CES today. The networking company has launched four gigabit-capable wireless routers, one with ADSL modem support and one a power-line router. The power line model, the N300 Wireless Router with Powerline AV combines 200Mbps networking over home power lines with wireless 802.11n networking and three standard 100Mbps Ethernet ports.

DoubleTwist Android app adds wireless sync for video, music

DoubleTwist has released an upgrade to its Android app, which is now capable of wirelessly syncing content with a computer. The new feature, labeled AirSync, allows an Android device to connect directly with the DoubleTwist desktop client to transfer files such as music, photos and videos over a local Wi-Fi network.
The system is designed to automatically start and stop sync functions as the user moves in an out of Wi-Fi range. The desktop software is also available for Mac and Windows computers, although the photo sync is currently limited to the Windows edition.
