LG Optimus A spotted for AT&T
Apr 7th
LG’s Optimus One handset will soon arrive at AT&T, according to a leaked image at PocketNow. It may be called the Optimus A and joins other variants of the same device already on offer for a long time at Sprint (LG Optimus S), T-Mobile (Optimus T), Verizon (Vortex) and Cricket (Optimus C). The phone is an entry-level Android device with a 600MHz processor, a 3.2-megapixel camera and a 3.2-inch touchscreen.
The pricing is expected to be very similar to that from other carriers, likely to fall near $ 50 on a two-year contract. Why it took AT&T so long to More >
LG Optimus V sees rabid demand, Nexus S 4G logo spotted
Mar 19th
Virgin Mobile’s LG Optimus V has seen an unexpectedly high amount of demand based on first-hand looks. Every retailer that carries the ultra-budget Android 2.2 phone, including Best Buy, Target, and Walmart, has remained backordered for at least the past two weeks. Android and Me didn’t check, but Virgin’s online store also lists it as “temporarily out of stock.”
The Optimus V is likely to be in sheer demand through its very low price. At $ 150 without a contract, it may be the least expensive Android phone in the US. Virgin’s plans are also much less expensive at just $ More >
HTC Droid Incredible 2 spotted live, getting Android 2.3
Mar 13th
Verizon’s upcoming HTC Droid Incredible 2 got its first live appearance in a sighting on Saturday. The phone is, as expected, a very close variant of the Incredible S with some new trim and Verizon’s badging. AndroidSpin‘s view only caught Android 2.2 with HTC’s Sense UI, but it’s now expected to go to 2.3 by the time the phone launches.
The phone may stay on 3G, but it will still be one of Verizon’s more advanced phones with a four-inch screen, an eight-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front camera and a second-generation 1GHz Snapdragon processor. HTC would still give it More >
Sony Ericsson’s Windows Phone 7 device possibly spotted
Mar 6th
Sony Ericsson’s plans for Windows Phone 7 may have solidified Saturday morning with a posting of what may be a prototype. The design on show is a full-size QWERTY slider with a large (possibly four-inch) touchscreen. The Esato poster didn’t provide hardware details, but Sony Ericsson’s distinctive arcing design and the presence of the WP7-specific emoticon key and navigation buttons suggest it’s accurate.
None of the software appeared to be custom, although a prototype would be less likely to run special apps. WP7 phone designers have limited control over customization but can preload their own apps as long as users can More >
iPhone 4 N92 prototype spotted with SIM slot?
Oct 19th
Apple’s elusive CDMA iPhone 4, known to most as the N92, may have been spotted in a leak. The early version of the device, part of the DVT (design verification test) stage, purportedly arrived briefly in a repair shop in Vietnam loaded with the same Inferno test firmware Apple uses but identifying it as a new “N92DVT” variant. Richy Rich was told that it still had a micro SIM card slot, supporting theories that it may be dual-mode and either provide basic world roaming or serve as a true every-carrier model that replaces the existing iPhone.
The possibility also exists that More >
