Mar 24th
Samsung announced on Thursday that its Samsung Apps mobile and TV application store has seen 100 million downloads since the service launched in June. This milestone was reached in 10 months, and the store now offers more than 13,000 apps for the company’s hardware offerings. In comparison, Angry Birds series reached the 100 million mark earlier this month, on the 14th, though the game is offered in many title and across multiple platforms, including Android, BlackBerry, iOS and more.

Samsung denies rumors of Galaxy Tab overstock
Mar 23rd
Samsung on Wednesday rejected claims that the original Galaxy Tab was in oversupply. Korean rumors had been circulating that the Android 2.2 tablet’s unsold inventory was into the hundreds of thousands, according to rumors published by the local outlet MoneyToday. The claims were “absolutely groundless,” spokesman spokesman James Chung said.
Real inventory levels are unknown. Samsung has now said it shipped three million Galaxy Tabs since they arrived in the early fall, up from two million in January. Its figures only include those shipped to carriers and stores, though, and don’t include deliveries to actual customers. Most companies often count More >
Samsung makes Galaxy Tab 10.1 thinner to one-up iPad 2
Mar 22nd
In a game of one up-manship with Apple, Samsung has redesigned its original Galaxy Tab 10.1 to slim down its 10.9mm thickness. The iPad 2 handily beat that, at 8.8mm, but the redesigned Galaxy Tab 10.1 is now just 8.6mm thick. It also now matches the slightly smaller but equally new Galaxy Tab 8.9 in terms of thickness.
Samsung is now quick to call the new duo the world’s thinnest tablets. The new Galaxy Tab weighs 595 grams, or 125 grams more than the Galaxy Tab 8.9 and again just undercuts the iPad 2′s 603 gram weight.

Samsung brings TA750, TA950 3D TV/PC display hybrids to US
Mar 16th
Samsung’s string of US news on Wednesday brought its new line of 3D TV/PC display hybrids to the country for the first time. Both output a 1080p, 120Hz stereoscopic 3D picture on their 23- or 27-inch screens. They have conventional PC inputs like DVI, but they also have two HDMI inputs and an ATSC tuner to take in video from a game console or Blu-ray player as well as to catch over-the-air HD.
The two also bring in some of the features from the TV-only realm, including support for TV apps, and can search across the whole local network to More >
Samsung teases Galaxy Tab 8.9 again, hints custom apps
Mar 16th
Samsung teased the Galaxy Tab 8.9 yet again with another video (below) that might have given clues as to the software side. After some pretext, the clip very briefly shows off the front of the tablet with a dim but visible screen. It shows what could be either a custom news and weather app or else home screen widgets; they superficially resemble some of the screen-filling widgets from the Galaxy S II.
The extras if real would be a step beyond what’s been seen on the Galaxy Tab 10.1, which is so far a completely stock Android 3.0 tablet. Samsung More >
