Samsung’s connected fridge priced at $3,500

The Samsung RF4289 refrigerator introduced at this year’s CES was just priced by the electronics giant. When it arrives later this month, the 28-cubic foot fridge will cost $ 3,500. For that price, buyers get an embedded 8-inch touchscreen tablet-like device that appears to run on either a heavily customized Android OS or Samsung’s own software as it connects to Google calendars.

Blackberry PlayBook priced from $500, pre-order now

RIMs Blackberry PlayBook tablet is now officially available on pre-order, starting from $ 500. Three W-Fi-only models are currently up from pre-order on the Best Buy, Canada website. The Blackberry PlayBook 16GB is going for $ 500, the 32GB for $ 600 and the 64GB for $ 700. The US Best Buy site is currently only listing the 16GB model for the same asking price as in Canada.
Other stores that are expected to stock the tablet in the States includes Staples, RadioShack, Office Depot. Carriers among those listed to be officially supporting the device include AT&T, Sprint and Verizon. More >
HP Envy 17 3D ships November 5, priced at $1,600

The HP Envy 17 3D notebook introduced at the start of September will begin shipping from HP on November 5. The base system starts at $ 1,600, and for that money, buyers get 3D active shutter glasses, a quad 1.6GHz Core i7 CPU, a dual-layer Blu-ray writer and 6GB of RAM. The GPU is a 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850 with HDMI output.
The 17.3-inch screen has a 120Hz panel to generate 3D and outputs natively at 1080p. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are standard. A 500GB, 7,200RPM hard drive is stock, with up to a 2TB, 5,200RPM unit available. Buyers More >
Blue Microphones’ Mikey for Flip priced, dated

Blue Microphones has formally detailed an add-on microphone for Cisco’s new Flip Ultra HD pocket camcorder, the Mikey for Flip. It connects to the devices’ FlipPort accessory port and enables stereo audio recording. It contains Blue’s condenser microphone capsules and gets its own power source courtesy of an AAA battery.
The microphone otherwise has a plug for a traditional external microphone and an automatic external microphone. It also gets a Loud setting for muting out loud background noises, such as when at a concert. The bottom of the add-on has a tripod mount.

LG’s 31-inch OLED TV spotted, priced at IFA

LG as promised has been showing its 31-inch OLED TV at IFA today and has now detailed some of how it works and plans for a real launch. The organic 1080p screen is characterized as large and vivid but is also detachable from its stand. Unlike the XEL-1 and some conventional TVs, where a thin screen is permanently fixed to the stand, the LG set can be removed or rotated in place.
