Verizon starts taking pre-orders for HP Pre 2

Buyers waiting to for a carrier subsidized version of the HP Pre 2 can now pre-order the device for Verizon through the HP online store. Unusually, the same offer cannot currently be found on Verizons own website, although it is currently focused on promoting the Verizon iPhone 4. Customers can reserve their HP Pre 2 for Verizon for an expected shipping date of February 17.

Fender shows Stratocaster for Rock Band, pre-orders Jan. 1

Fender today unwrapped details of its signature controller for Rock Band 3, the Stratocaster Guitar and Controller. The device is both a full-fledged electric guitar based on the Squier as well as a peripheral for the Harmonix game’s realistic Pro Mode. Controls on the body steer both the game and the instrument’s output.
The design is expensive for a game controller but very inexpensive for a real-world guitar, at $ 280. Fender hasn’t named the supporting platforms for the Stratocaster, but pre-orders will start January 1 with the release two months later, on March 1.
T-Mobile G2 preorders to start Friday

An escaped T-Mobile memo tonight has given away that T-Mobile will start taking preorders for the G2 on Friday, September 24. The TmoNews scoop has the network taking preorders online, in stores and through upgrades from tomorrow through to October 4. As inadvertently confirmed earlier, the actual launch will take place two days later, on October 6.
The G2 should cost $ 200 on a two-year contract.

ExoPC to ship slate pre-orders late September

ExoPC confirmed today that it will begin taking pre-orders for its anticipated ExoPC Slate in early September, with shipments later the same month. First announced in February and initially expected in March, the delayed iPad challenger will feature a heavily customized version of Windows 7 Home Premium running on a typical 1.6Ghz Atom CPU.
Originally expected ship with an 8.9-inch display, the production version will come with a larger 11.6-inch, capacitive- and pressure-sensitive, 1366×768 display.
