Panasonic may have new pro camera at NAB

At the upcoming NAB show, Panasonic may show a new semi-professional video camera, sources told EOSHD. Initially believed to the a successor to the company’s Micro-Four Thirds AF100, the new camera may not replace it after all. The model number and main specs will be revealed at the show, the sources said.

Panasonic intros GF2 as world’s lightest swappable lens cam

Panasonic tonight unveiled the Lumix GF2. The Micro Four Thirds camera is reportedly the lightest and one of the smallest swappable lens models in the world, having shed 19 percent of its size and seven percent of its weight. Lighting has also improved: Panasonic has a new approach to bounce flash that improves its ability to illuminate subjects for very close shots. It is also compatible with Panasonic’s new 3D interchangeable lens, the LUMIX G 12.5mm/F12, making it capable of taking photos in 3D.

Panasonic GF2 may be unveiled this week

A sequel to Panasonic’s extra-compact GF1 may launch this week based on leaks of both official and unofficial information. South Korea’s Radio Research Agency has listed the GF2 as registered on Monday. Two sources for 4/3 Rumors, meanwhile, claim both to have seen the device and to know that it should be unveiled within a matter of days.

Tiny new Panasonic DVR has Blu-ray, hard drive

Panasonic Japan has just introduced what it says is the smallest DVR with both a Blu-ray writer and a hard drive. Dubbed DIGA DMR-BF200, the device can record to its internal 320GB hard drive or burn BD-R or BD-RE discs. The DVR weighs less than 5lbs and is well under a foot wide and long, while just under 2.6 inches thick.

Panasonic dates, prices pro Micro Four Thirds video camera

Panasonic has dated and priced its first-ever Micro Four Thirds camcorder, the pro-level AG-AF100. First shown back in April, the camera will begin shipping on December 27 and cost $ 4,995. It is capable of recording native 1080p24 video but also offers variable frame rates and professional audio.
The format allows users to interchange lenses from Canon and Nikon, among others, as well as filters and adapters.
