Nikon’s plans for a small interchangeable lens camera may have garnered support on Friday as a tease from an anonymous source hinted at what might be its mounting system. What appears to be a dry run for a presentation obtained by Nikon Rumors shows slides with “Nikon Q” and a stylized logo underneath. Another shows the Q over the lens area on the darkened frame of what looks like a pro camera, implying a new lens format other than DX or FX.
The company has only said so far that it wants to implement a new class of camera before the More >

Nikon’s repeatedly rumored Coolpix P7000 semi-pro camera may have been spotted just ahead of a launch this evening. The camera would take more of a direct cue from the Canon G11 with a large optical viewfinder directly above the lens. Accordingly, Nikon Rumors‘ image would give the camera much more control with two extra, dedicated dials and a function button for programmable commands.
The P7000 is already expected to shadow much of what’s known to be coming for the Canon G12, including a larger-than-average 10-megapixel sensor and 720p video recording. Nikon’s model would shoot video at just 24 frames per More >
Canon EOS 60D: 18 megapixels and 1080p video flexes its articulating screen this September

Well, what do we have here? Last we heard about the Canon EOS 60D it was just a twinkle in our articulating screen of a peripheral vision. And now it’s official — my, how times have changed. Here’s what we know about the 50D successor (with definite nods to the Rebel T2i‘s feature set): the 18-megapixel DSLR has a single DIGIC 4 processor and boasts 1080p H.264 video with an in-camera movie editing feature, manual audio level control, a “flexible” (read: articulating) 3-inch LCD screen, an ISO range of 100-6,400 purported to be expandable to 12,800, and support for processing RAW images More >

Nikon
Some details of the upcoming successor to Nikon’s Coolpix P6000 point and shoot digital camera have been revealed by NikonRumors. The sensor’s megapixel count will be reduced from 13.5 to 10, and it will be slightly bigger, at 1/1.7 inches versus 1/1.72 inches. The lens, however, will have more reach, as it will have an equivalent range of 28 to 200mm, rather than the P6000′s 28-112mm glass.
The focal length is only slightly changed, from f/2.7-5.9 to f/2.8-5.6. In comparison, the Canon G11 Nikon reportedly sees as the P700’0′s competitor sports a 28-140mm, f2.8-4.5 lens.
