iPad 2 lines reach hundreds, include SXSW line [photos]
Mar 14th
With less than two hours to go, lineups for the iPad 2 have shown a return to form after the near-absent Verizon iPhone queues. The lineup at the 5th Avenue store, usually the longest in the US, is believed to have grown to over 1,000 people. Nearby, the SoHo store’s line wrapped around the corner and extended to at least Houston Street.
As expected, Apple’s popup SXSW store in Austin is real and has its own line. Other queues are ranging into the dozens or hundreds, some of which may have been longer than for the original iPad.

Orb Audio launches line of small but powerful speakers

Orb Audio uses technologies such as rare earth magnets, CCAD voice coils, Santoprene, Nomex and other materials to get “big” sound from their small speakers. The body of the Orb is made of carbon steel and comes More >

Available in 60-, 55- and 46-inch sizes next month, these give a 3D spec bump (and around a $ 200 premium on the MSRP) to the existing NX800 series of Edge LED lit HDTVs that came out earlier this year. Like the NX800, these feature a slick monolith design, built-in WiFi, widgets and an ambient light sensor to automatically adjust the picture in changing room conditions, but other than the 3D-readiness (and coupons for free Blu-ray 3D movies and PSN games, though More >
