Nintendo’s Miyamoto shy on Project Cafe, hints all-new model

Nintendo’s famous game designer Shigeru Miyamoto in a Dutch interview late this week dropped few but important hints about his company’s next console. The Zelda pioneer would neither confirm nor deny the existence of Project Cafe, a game system with a large touchscreen and analog hybrid gamepad, but promised that whatever would come about would be “totally different than usual.” Spits was given a clue that the new game system would natively support HDTVs versus the 480p of the Wii.

Video pro hints iPad, Thunderbolt new parts of Final Cut Pro

Bunim/Murray Productions’ post-production lead Mark Raudonis gave some clues in a new revision of Final Cut Studio. Having been to a recent preview presentation at Apple’s Cupertino headquarters, he hinted that at least the Final Cut Pro part of the suite embodied the Wayne Gretzky philosophy of skating to where the puck will be and has forward-thinking hardware features. It would be designed with Thunderbolt ports in mind and even had a degree of iPad support, Raudonis said in a clip shared by Filmmaker.

GameStop plans streaming games to tablets, hints own model

GameStop during its Investor’s Day event on Friday outlined major plans to get into remote gaming and the tablet field. Its purchase of Spawn Labs, which provided remote console streaming for developers, will let it offer an OnLive-like streaming service to play many games, including console titles, on a tablet, a notebook, or other devices with large screens. The Dallas Morning News was told that GameStop would still try to protect its retail business by limiting the streaming to buyers who register their games with the Power Up Rewards program and may take on an additional subscription fee.

Apple patent hints iWeb may come to iPad

It may have been some time since iWeb, Apples simple WYSIWYG web page design tool, has received new features. However, it appears that Apple has at the very least considered bringing it across to the iPad. A new patent application has emerged that shows a version of iWeb for the iPad. It would join GarageBand, Keynote, Numbers, Pages and iMovie as productivity and creativity apps ported from its Mac OS X platform over to its burgeoning iOS platform.
