Always Innovating Smart Book includes more modular gear

After releasing its modular Touch Book back in July of 2009, Always Innovating is now working on its follow-up, the Smart Book. At first glance, the two look very much alike, but the Smart Book houses a smartphone-like device that can be used for making VoIP phone and conference calls thanks to a front-facing camera or surfing the web, though the latter hasn’t been confirmed. This device can then be docked inside the screen portion, which then acts as a tablet.

Analysts: Apple must make Verizon iPhone to blunt Android

Apple has to make the iPhone available for Verizon and other carriers if it wants a chance at competing with Android, Bernstein Research analysts Pierre Ferragu and Toni Sacconaghi urged on Wednesday. Noting that Google has tripled its growth to 200,000 activations per day in just seven months, the bankers called Apple to make the iPhone available for the carriers that have become safe havens for Android, including not only Verizon but also O2 and Vodafone in Germany, China Mobile and Japan’s NTTDoCoMo. Toshiba’s Tegra 2-powered Android Smart Pad to be called Folio 100?

A Smart Pad? That’s just Toshiba’s product category, according to Netbook Italia’s latest post on the tablet (it’s previously shown off some apparent imagery). The publication has published new renders — including a dock peripheral — and some purported specs. Hopefully you had your Campbell’s Chunky Fully Loaded Beef Stew this morning, because it takes a Man to look down the barrel of the G-Mate Mag Gun and live. The weapon just passed through the FCC unscathed, and now it’s gunning for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. The basic operation is simple enough, with triggers, face buttons, a d-pad and everything else you’d need to ape a modern console controller.
