The two main accessories a new iPad 2 owner would be looking for right after buying would be a screen protector (to help cut down on the smudginess of oily fingerprints) and a protective case for transporting the iPad 2. Among the many companies offering these, new items from Moshi and Mivizu fit the bill, with a “no-bubble guaranteed” screen protector and Smart Cover-style magnetic case, respectively.
Moshi, which has made a name for itself in stylish iDevice accessories, now offers the iVisor AG for iPad 2 ($ 30), a sequel to their popular screen protector for the original iPad. More >
Kno confirms taking $30m from Intel, going multi-platform

Kno removed doubts on Friday and confirmed it was taking an investment from Intel that would effectively see it get out of direct competition in tablets. A $ 30 million investment from venture capital groups, $ 20 million of would come directly from Intel Capital, will see the two work on getting Kno’s educational software on to Intel’s educational hardware platforms, like the ClassMate line. Intel gets control of licensing for Kno’s tablet design and will let other companies build slates based on the 14-inch single- or dual-screen hardware.

Huge security breach compromises e-mail from TiVo, banks

Large-scale e-mail marketer Epsilon warned this weekend that at least 14 major companies had their e-mail lists compromised through a security hack. TiVo, as well as banks like Capital One, Citi, and JPMorgan Chase, warned that their customers could be targeted by phishing attempts or anything else that relies on knowing an e-mail address. The affected group stressed that they didn’t have any other personally identifying data besides names, although rewards programs from Marriott and Ritz-Carleton also exposed point balances.

Two different companies have announced new high-end earbud-style headphones that offer excellent sound at reasonable prices. Audio-Technica are now shipping their in-ear ATH-ANC23 active noise-cancelling headphones that claim to offer 90% noise-cancelling performance while preserving 20-20,000 Hz performance, while Brainwavz have brought out dual-balanced armature earphones they call their highest-end yet, the Brainwavz B2 which will be shipping in late April.

Fox asks Time Warner to pull channels from iPad TV app

Fox on Wednesday said it had given a cease-and-desist letter to Time Warner Cable asking it to pull Fox channels from the TWCable TV iPad app. The studio believed Time Warner didn’t have rights to stream its shows on Apple’s tablet, even over the app’s home Wi-Fi limitation. Time Warner hadn’t said to Bloomberg if it would contest the letter but in a post on its company blog reiterated its view that its home TV rights included the iPad.
