Plans for a version of the HTC Incredible S to show in the US may have been effectively greenlit on Saturday through a sighting in Verizon’s inventory system. An entry for an HTC63503, or “INCRD2,” has surfaced that points directly to a Droid Incredible 2 in the future. Engadget‘s insider didn’t have release clues, but devices often show when relatively close to an introduction.
The Incredible S is almost certainly the template for the Droid Incredible 2 since it shares the same visual design cues and basic focus. As such, it would likely get a four-inch LCD, an upgraded eight-megapixel More >

The CDMA-based iPhone expected for Verizon is in the very last stages of testing before it moves on to production, a news tip claimed today. What’s known in Apple’s profiling system as iPhone 3,2 has supposedly entered the “AP” phase of testing, which involves final hardware and only some polish necessary for software. As confirmed in the past, BGR noted that Apple usually undergoes a rough Engineering Validation Test (EVT) and a Design Validation Test (DVT, the stolen iPhone 4′s stage) beforehand.
Unusually, the design is still said to have a SIM card slot and thus some kind of GSM support. More >

Verizon Wireless chief Lowell McAdam today dodged around questions regarding the prospect of an iPhone but put the burden on Apple. At a CTIA press event, McAdam responded to new claims that a Verizon iPhone was being mass produced for early next year by saying that he hadn’t seen the specific WSJ rumor but, unusually, said it was Apple’s responsibility to announce anything. He warned that this sort of rumor “rolls out every few weeks” but said it was likely just a matter of time for an iPhone or even “a tablet.”

Microsoft’s decision to drop Verizon at launch for Windows Phone 7 was a matter of concentrating resources, the company explained late Thursday. Senior product lead Greg Sullivan told CNET that it had to focus only on GSM until the first half of 2011 to make sure it launched smoothly. Like Apple in 2007, Microsoft picked GSM to support international launches.
The mindset was the same behind excluding copy-and-paste text and multitasking from the initial release. “We could do more things, or we could do fewer things really, really well,” Sullivan said.
Its timing may nonetheless complicate its launch as Apple is increasingly More >
Samsung Galaxy Tab, in the wild and now teasing CDMA
Aug 30th
Okay, this is getting ridiculous. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab has once again surfaced online via unofficial channels, and this time it’s carrying a sticker on one side that clearly states CDMA. The iAndroid forum goer who allegedly snapped these shots praised the device for its strong speakers, call quality (although not clear if that’s over 3G or WiFi), and ability to run Flash — but at the same time notes the GPS is just a bit slow (it does work, though). More pictures in the gallery below, right next to our ever-increasing impatience to try this little guy out ourselves.
