Samsung calls on Symbian developers to embrace Bada

Samsung is reportedly attempting to woo frustrated Symbian developers, inviting them to build applications for the Bada platform. A number of Indian developers allegedly received an e-mail from Samsung representatives who offer solace for the developers, many of whom may have felt snubbed when Nokia announced its partnership with Microsoft.
“If you are a Symbian developer unhappy about Nokias recent announcements, and are hence looking for a new platform to showcase your talents, we say Hello! and Welcom to bada! states the alleged e-mail, which was posted on Samsung Hub.

7% of Americans have made video phone calls post-iPhone 4

About seven percent of the US has made a video call on a cellphone, Pew Research found in a study posted today. Although still relatively new in the country, mobile video chat is now large enough to compare to the 23 percent of total Internet users that have used video. The demographics were more likely to include wealthier users making over $ 75,000 per year but also relatively younger audiences, below 50.

Google introduces Call from Gmail, free calls to US and Canada (update: impressions)

Rumors have been buzzing about since June, but Google just made it official — the company’s baking Google Voice calls right into Gmail today. Like the Google Chat text, voice and video chat integrated into the web-based email client in prior years, full phone calls will also be an option using VoIP technology from the Gizmo5 aquisition.
