Samsung brings TA750, TA950 3D TV/PC display hybrids to US

Samsung’s string of US news on Wednesday brought its new line of 3D TV/PC display hybrids to the country for the first time. Both output a 1080p, 120Hz stereoscopic 3D picture on their 23- or 27-inch screens. They have conventional PC inputs like DVI, but they also have two HDMI inputs and an ATSC tuner to take in video from a game console or Blu-ray player as well as to catch over-the-air HD.

Immersion’s Motiv SDK brings haptic feedback to Android

Immersion has already introduced its Motiv haptic feedback platform for the Android OS earlier this year, but it’s now making the promised SDK available for download. SDK 1.0 will let Android developers to bring tactile feedback into their products. It contains hundreds of haptic effects, code samples and other resources.

Egyptian liberation brings FaceTime to local iPhones

Vodafone Egypt confirmed on Sunday that it had brought FaceTime to local iPhone 4 users for the first time as of Saturday. The liberation of the country from Mubarak’s regime had removed the restrictions previously imposed upon it and would give it the same access as in other countries. Most users should have it soon, if not already, through a carrier update delivered through iTunes.

T-Mobile Comet brings Android for just $10

As part of the same launch that brought cheaper data plans, T-Mobile today added what’s believed to be the cheapest ever Android phone in the US. The Comet Americanizes the Huawei Ideos and has relatively modest hardware while still running Android 2.2. It runs on a 528MHz processor and a 2.8-inch touchscreen but still has a 3.2-megapixel camera, GPS, Wi-Fi and other expectations.

MSI GE603 notebook brings GeForce GT 425M to the mid-range

MSI on Friday quietly upgraded its GE series gaming notebooks with a modernized mid-range version. The 15.6-inch GE603 upgrades to a GeForce GT 425M for DirectX 11-level video from NVIDIA. Depending on the trim level, it can scale up from a 2.26GHz Core i5 to a 2.53GHz version.
Most configurations share a 1366×768 screen, a 720p webcam, a DVD burner and HDMI out, but hard drive capacities can range between 320GB and 640GB. All systems can have up to 8GB of RAM, but the company hasn’t said what comes standard.
