Apogee’s USB2 audio interface and “studio in a box,” Duet 2, now features a full-color OLED display to offer visual feedback for its multiple functions, including metering, input and output and more. It offers full 24-bit/192kHz recording, new configurable touch pads, Soft Limit technology, a breakout cable and Maestro 2 software, along with completely re-designed mic preamps, four balanced outputs, and an independent speaker.

Orb Audio launches line of small but powerful speakers

Orb Audio has expanded and launched their latest line of tiny but audiophile-class, hand-made in the US speakers, called the Orb. The four-inch, 17-ounce round satellites — about the size of a baseball — can function as stand-alone units or be part of a modular system that includes subwoofers and additional speakers. The company says they offer high-quality construction but with direct-from-manufacturer pricing.

HTC HD7 specs and photos show Dolby audio, prices

The HTC HD7 had yet more details spoiled today in a scoop with imagery of both the device and launch details in tow. A source with O2 Germany gave Engadget confirmation of the Windows Phone 7 device’s 4.3-inch screen, 1GHz processor, five-megaipixel camera and 8GB of storage but also the presence of Dolby Mobile Sound. The feature should restore detail in music and improve its quality; there’s no mention of virtual surround for movies.
In the form shown, the HD7 only has European 3G and quad-band GSM/EDGE, but earlier leaks have pointed to a T-Mobile US version.

Scosche has added to a line of iPhone and iPad accessories with the motorMOUTH II Handsfree & Streaming Audio Car Kit. The Bluetooth device is designed to plug into a vehicle’s MP3/AUX input. A multi-function button can be used to automatically pair the device, and one-touch voice dialing is supported for most Bluetooth-capable phones.
The package comes with an AUX relocation cable, which lets people temporarily mount the device in a location better suited to picking up a drivers voice. Also provided is a Y adapter, for those who want to bypass wireless.

Orb MP-1 promises cheap wireless audio with iPhone as remote

Orb made its first venture into hardware today through its MP-1 wireless audio streaming hub. The small puck depends entirely on software on a computer and device to work and only has audio and power connectors. Any Mac or Windows PC running the Orb Caster app can share music from iTunes, Pandora or Sirius XM’s Internet service over the Wi-Fi network with an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch using a special remote app.
